Adele Las Vegas Residency Rumored to Be In Works

Could Adele be the next artist to announce a Las Vegas residency?

Staging month- and sometimes year-long events at one hotel and casino or another in Sin City is the en vogue thing to do these days, and rumor has it Adele has been offered a multi-million dollar deal that she is considering.

Late last year, after giving birth to her first child in October, Adele said she probably wouldn’t tour again until she releases her third record. But the Las Vegas whisperings indicate a residency may be the best fit into the busy schedule for the new mother.

“Adele is at the top of the Las Vegas hit list, and she’s seriously considering it as an option,” MTV reports. “She wants to get back to performing but doesn’t want to go on the road so soon after becoming a mum. … A Las Vegas residency would mean she could settle with her family and record her third album all at once.”

The English paper the Daily Star reports that Adele has been seeking advice from Elton John, who’s no stranger to stints in Vegas.

“Rather than tour the world, she would get to settle in one place as she gets to grips with motherhood,” the paper said. “She has been picking Sir Elton John’s brain on the subject. She’s been asking for his advice, and he’s the right person to ask having spent years at Caesars Palace.

“Elton has been like a godfather to her recently, helping her settle into life as a superstar while dealing with the challenges of being a parent. She talked with him about her fears of singing live again. He’s eased her mind about returning to the stage. He said she should return to playing live, as she has such a great gift.

Granted, these reports are a couple months old and we’re still waiting to hear any official word. It’s been over two years now since Adele put out her sophomore album, 21, and with that record selling a gazillion copies (well, 25 million), she can probably have her pick of touring how and when she wants to. But as the sources above say, a Vegas residency would make sense.
