Frequently Asked Questions
What songs will Carrie Underwood play in concert?
Carrie Underwood keeps her setlist quite consistent on each date of a tour, but changes things up a lot on each successive tour. In her previous tour, she retained her title track off of 2012’s Blown Away as the closing number. But perhaps because she is a bit shy from the release (it has been two years) and to change things up, she now closes with “Before He Cheats” which is a peculiar choice. It is not necessarily a big song, and it is from her debut all the way back to 2005’s Some Hearts. This is only one of two debut selections she ever makes- the other being the power ballad “Wasted.”
The first half of the setlist is rather intact. She opens with “Good Girl” from Blown Away, and runs through a selection of other material from the album including “Two Black Cadillacs” and “See You Again.” This is all early in the set, but she saves other Blown Away material towards later, such as “Nobody Ever Told You” and “Leave Love Alone.” Ultimately, she displays a good portion of the record throughout her setlist, clocking in a solid eight or so songs from this more recent release.
Carrie Underwood leaves no album untouched. Play On is respected with a run through three songs, including “Cowboy Casanova” and “Undo It” early on. “Temporary Home” from the album does not make it onto every setlist, but it rounds out the selections from this 2009 release. In all, she almost evenly distributes all her songs throughout her four major studio releases, while giving an expected slant towards her most recent 2012 effort.
See You Again
Two Black Cadillacs
Jesus Take The Wheel
I Told You So
Flat on the Floor
Cupid’s Got a Shotgun
Before He Cheats
Does she perform any cover songs?
Country artists even of her caliber often throw in a handful of covers. There are two in particular that are especially worth mentioning. The first is a bit of a surprise. Brad paisley had Underwood featured on his 2011 song, “Remind Me.” Underwood reinvents the song for her live show, and though she was featured on the original track, it is still a Braid Paisley song making it officially a cover.
The other is most certainly a cover, and not a guaranteed attraction. Underwood sometimes brings out her country version of Guns N Roses famous power metal song “Paradise City.” Underwood just about has the vocal acrobatics to keep up with Axl Rose.
Do we hear any new songs?
Carrie Underwood last released Blown Away in 2012, and it was a huge album. Though it being a number of years, she is probably due for a new release soon enough. Despite this, Underwood performs no new songs. Though she has openly stated that she began work on her fifth album in early 2014.
How long is a Carrie Underwood concert?
Carrie Underwood brings out a show that is about 90 minutes in length.
What should I expect out of the show?
She has also said that this will be a bit more stripped down than with previous tours. This is not a full acoustic show, but she puts slightly less arena country rock into her sound, stripping it a bit of its full band sound.
How do I get access to presale tickets for Carrie Underwood’s tour?
There is really only one way to gain access to the presale for this recent Carrie Underwood tour. This is through her official fan club and you must have fan club access for the vast majority of presales. For $25 a year, you get access to a number of great features, including merchandise, the forum, and meet and greet opportunities which are more often than you would think.
TicketMaster is providing a presale provision but it is not quite as generous as the one through Underwood’s official website. There is no access through American Express or other popular presale resources.
Who is Carrie Underwood’s publicist and press contact?
“Here’s the thing about a Carrie Underwood concert: A lot of the songs sound similar, but at least once in every one of them she’ll let loose with an improbably long note that runs through more octaves than you knew existed, leaving you with your jaw on the floor. Underwood’s songbook is full of pretty standard modern country fare, with more than a few scorned-woman songs (if listening to 8,000 or so women sing the chorus to “Before He Cheats” doesn’t make a guy examine his priorities, nothing will).” – Tom Szaroleta of Jacksonville Entertainment
“From tough-minded good ol’ girl to sentimental sweetheart, the Oklahoma native established the musical identity that, along with an amazing voice, has made her one of the most popular artists performing today.” – Steve Feeney of the Portland Press Herald
“She’s already got the sparkly part down pat. Since winning American Idol in 2005, the well-coiffed country-pop singer from Checotah, Okla., has become America’s Sweetheart with her halogen smile, glistening voice and Teflon attitude. And she spent most of the show in familiar happy-shiny mode. Changing from one glittery, thigh-baring outfit into the next, she sang hymns of praise to the “All-American Girl” and good-natured warnings about a “Cowboy Casanova.” – Thor Christensen of the Dallas News
