Frequently Asked Questions
What songs will Gavin DeGraw play in concert?
Gavin DeGraw makes some pretty elemental changes to the setlist each evening out that does some important structural things to the overall flow. DeGraw closes the set with the big dance number “Not Over You,” with its huge sing-a-long chorus and some erupting cheers from the crowd. But the preceding track switches out often. It is sometimes “Everything Will Change” with its slightly more melodic approach, or the underrated deep album cut “Leading Man” that is not necessarily a top tier single for fans.
One choice over the other really does change up the expectations and lead in to that last big number. Interestingly, DeGraw sweeps the crowd off their feet with his 2004 jam “I Don’t Want to Be;” a chart smash and, to this day, iconic pop culture track from the early 2000’s.
Aside from these pretty big and important changes towards the end of the set, the first half is almost identical each evening. The opening jam, “Make a Move,” is simply massive. It is a popular cut from DeGraw’s latest album (and the one he is touring in support of), Make a Move. He follows that up with another new album cut, “Heartbreak.”
DeGraw does some interesting things in his set by frontloading with material from his new album, which is arguably one of the most upbeat of his entire career. Another new album track is its opener, “Best I Ever Had,” which is a tour de force of frolicking orchestration. It sets a booming tone right out the gate, and he sporadically fizzles other tracks from the new album throughout the set. But, he almost completely omits any representation of material from his piano ballad album Free (which was quite amazing, but not the big success story it deserved to be).
DeGraw brings out 2004’s wonder-piece “Chariot” early into the set every evening as well as fan favorite, “Follow Through.”

Does Gavin DeGraw play any covers?
He has three covers he selects from and usually plays two of them. The most popular is a rendition of Billy Joel’s “She’s Always a Woman.” It fits with DeGraw’s musical style perfectly, but it does not necessarily hit big with the younger crowd. Adele’s “Rumour Has It” does thrill his youthful fans, which is why he usually pairs these two together for a single set.
If he doesn’t pull Adele out, he will opt for the R&B influenced “Mirrors” from Justin Timberlake. It tonally fits well with DeGraw’s new dance direction in his sound. Timberlake has this very pronounced R&B style in his music that is taken to a whole new level with his 20/20 Experience double album in 2013.
How long is a Gavin DeGraw concert?
Gavin DeGraw has a tendency to talk to the audience, which will extend the length of the show out pretty far, or at least pad up the songs a bit. Because DeGraw is doing so much on stage, he can’t keep the show going as long as he would probably like. Between his stint behind the piano, his singing, and playing strict acoustic tracks as a solo band leader, the show ends up going on close to 100 minutes.
Who is Gavin DeGraw’s publicist and press contact?
Gavin DeGraw is in collaboration with Career Artist Management. The company’s roster includes peers such as Maroon 5, Everclear, and Robin Thicke. Gavin Degraw is most closely associated with co-manager, Ryan Kravontka.
How do I get access to presale tickets for Gavin DeGraw’s tour?
Fortunately, Gavin DeGraw has a rather generous fan club set up to help fans obtain pre-sale tickets. For $9.95 a year, fans have access to contests, exclusive photo content, a fan only forum and website, and of course, access to presales before anyone else. A special deluxe package includes some physical merchandise at $29.95 a year.
Concert Reviews
“DeGraw took the stage with unexpected swagger, strutting across the boards like Freddie Mercury by way of Raffi and launching immediately into gospel highlight“Sweeter.” He followed with repertoire favorite “In Love With A Girl” before asking the crowd about their aforementioned relationship status, as an segue into “Soldier” and “Candy,” both of which were accompanied by LED visuals spinning with bubblegum colors.” – Marc Snetiker of Music Mix Entertainment
“DeGraw didn’t waste a lot of time chatting between songs, allowing the finely tuned pop jams to come in a steady stream. But when he did speak, it was to set up a poignant song (“Is anybody in here in love?” he asked before “Soldier”), make a joke (“Keep drinking, because the more you drink, the better we sound”), or to show his gratitude for the cheers. “– TJ at Neon Limelight
“With a line stretching off Seymour Street and spilling down Bloomfield Ave, the TV audience was invite-only, and mainly consisted of girls screaming at the top of their lungs for the Grammy award winning pop darling. Christmas lights graced the balcony and full stage decorations offered the perfect altar for an unsuspecting inspired performance.”- Martin Halo of The Waster
