Journey, Steve Miller Band Team Up for Co-Headlining Tour
Middle-aged classic rock fans are in for a treat next year, as Journey and the Steve Miller Band have just revealed details of an upcoming co-headlining tour next year.
The frankly-massive trek is due to kick off on May 15th in Chula Vista, California, and will see the legends make stops in a number of major markets, including Los Angeles, Phoenix, Atlanta, Toronto, Kansas City and Denver, before wrapping up on August 8th in Las Vegas. Hit the Journey link above for more dates and details. Support is set to come from special guests Tower Of Power, a band name I am amazed has not been used by anyone before now. I’m glad it’s out there.
“We are all so looking forward to playing again for you in 2014 with the great company of the Steve Miller Band and Tower of Power,” said Journey in a press release, adding, “It’s going to be a San Francisco musical delight from the past and present, moving full speed ahead into the future!”
“I can’t think of a better way for the Joker to celebrate his 40th and the Steve Miller Band to enjoy next summer than playing all our hits for all of our fans as we tour the entire U.S.A. with our brother San Francisco bands, Journey and Tower of Power,” added Miller. “This is going to be a not-to-be missed trifecta of the best of soul, greatest hits and arena rock by three of the greatest bands to come out of San Francisco, clearly a once-in-a lifetime event. We can’t wait to get started!”
Nice use of the word trifecta, Steve. I haven’t heard it thrown around outside of the horse park.
