Bullet for My Valentine Tour
Bullet for My Valentine is a Welsh band from Bridgend. It came into existence in 1998 and is comprised of Matthew Tuck (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Michael Paget (lead guitar, backing vocals), Jason James (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums).
The initial name for their band was a little bizarre “Jeff Killed John” since it was a music band, and they started off by performing on songs by Metallica and Nirvana. The band recorded six songs which were not released and a couple of them were recreated later in the band’s incarnation as Bullet for My Valentine.
They did not achieve much commercial success as “Jeff Killed John” and decided to change the name and their music. Their first major success in the new avatar was in 2002 when they contracted a five-album deal with Sony BMG. The band admitted that their style was influenced by classic metal acts such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Slayer.
The band with their new name released their debut album The Poison, on October 3, 2005 in the United Kingdom and on Valentine’s Day 2006 in the United States. The success that had eluded the band earlier, came with this album as it entered the Billboard 200 in the US at number 128. The Recording Industry Association of America certified it Gold.
Their second album, Scream Aim Fire released on January 29, 2008 and debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 whereas the third one called Fever, was released on April 26, 2010 and debuted at number three on the Billboard 200.
They have sold over one million albums in the United States and over three million albums the world over.
