Concert Review: Dave Matthews, Sting, Grace Potter at Centennial Park in Atlanta
April 8, 2013
The Final Four was officially in the books, but the music had just begun to play Sunday afternoon at the Big Dance Concert Series in Atlanta’s Centennial Park. The Capital One JamFest was a free concert for anyone who could pack their way into the park featuring heavyweight performances by acts like Dave Matthews Band,
Concert Review: My Morning Jacket at Centennial Park in Atlanta
April 6, 2013
Music is back in Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta! No its not a resurrected On the Bricks crawling from the tomb a decade later. Some of the top touring bands of the summer have decided to give the Final Four revelers a side of music with their college basketball weekend. Dave Matthews Band, Sting, Muse and
Concert Review: Eric Clapton at Gwinnett Arena in Atlanta
March 28, 2013
There are few things more iconic in music than Eric Clapton. Its impossible to have a discussion about the best guitarist of all time without mentioning his name. He is the only three time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee (Creme, the Yardbirds and solo respectively). He’s won seventeen Grammy Awards, influenced countless musicians
SXSW Review: Vampire Weekend, Haim, Small Black @ Stubb’s
March 17, 2013
[slideshow gallery_id=”10″] So we’ve reached the end of our SXSW experience. And I do mean experience. SXSW is like no other festival that we’ve covered, primarily because it’s not really a festival. South by Southwest is an industry event that takes the city of Austin hostage for the week and every hole-in-the-wall that can serve
SXSW Review: Flaming Lips, Divine Fits, Jim James @ Auditorium Shores
March 16, 2013
[slideshow gallery_id=”9″] On Friday, we headed over to Auditorium Shores, a beautiful, spacious outdoor venue, to catch three much buzzed about SXSW acts: The Divine Fits, Jim James, and the Flaming Lips. This open air venue was chosen to provide a free opportunity for local Austinites who didn’t shell out hundreds of dollars for wristbands
SXSW Review: Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, Bun B @ Austin Music Hall
March 16, 2013
[slideshow gallery_id=”8″] We return with coverage of South by Southwest with the spotlight on Friday’s events. We hit a bit of a hiccup on Thursday, breaking our cardinal rule of ‘park thy butt at one venue and call it a night.’ We started at the ACL Live to check out the soul review, jumped to
SXSW Review: Natalie Maines, Iron and Wine, Dawes @ ACL Live
March 14, 2013
[slideshow gallery_id=”7″] We opened our week-long South by Southwest coverage by hitting up one of Austin’s quintessential hole-in-the-wall bars, The Belmont, to witness music’s next generation amongst the sweaty masses. Last night, we went to the opposite end of the spectrum, visiting the new ACL Live at Moody’s Theatre comfortably tucked into the W Hotel.
SXSW Review: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Action Bronson, Icona Pop @ The Belmont
March 13, 2013
[slideshow gallery_id=”6″] Welcome to South by Southwest! Spring arrived in sunny Austin, Texas to welcome the music industry after a week of technology and film festivities. Tuesday was the official start of the music leg, but the meat of the presentation will be served later in the week. There were a few panels to munch
Concert Review: Winter Jam 2013 at Philips Arena in Atlanta
February 11, 2013
[slideshow gallery_id=”5″] Praise and worship were the order of the day at Atlanta’s Philips Arena when Winter Jam 2013 stopped by Sunday night. Would you expect anything less from Christian music’s largest annual tour? The 10 artist event easily sold out the 21,000 seat arena even though it did so in a rather unconventional way.
Concert Review: Willie Nelson at the Tabernacle in Atlanta
January 21, 2013
Willie Nelson is an American icon. As a life-long Georgian, I have probably heard Willie’s version of “Georgia On My Mind” even more times than Ray Charles’ original. When I was younger, “Mama Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys” was featured on a commercial with the snippet sung by Native Americans, and
