Frequently Asked Questions
What songs will Fitz and the Tantrums play in concert?
There is certainly a rather strict pattern for the rapidly popular indie pop and soul tornado known as Fitz and the Tantrums. The group only has two studio records to their credit, which does not provide much room for mobility in the setlists. This is probably why the band loves to talk with the audience. They also bring out a soulful rendition of Eurhythmics 80’s one hit wonder, “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).” The song is happy and charming in the hands of the group; a far cry from Marilyn Manson’s sinister and dissonant version.
A few minor changes to the setlist take place with the most notable being the omission of “MerryGoRound,” and the occasional “Tell Me What Ya Here For” addition to the setlist. It seems the band has some additional time for some shows, and adds these songs towards the end of the setlist if they are not reaching a local venue curfew.
The band reliably opens with “Get Away,” and closes with their biggest hit to date, 2013’s “The Walker” from More Than Just a Dream. This album makes up roughly 60% of the setlist, so fans of the first record may expect to see a few songs dropped in favor of these newer tunes.

How long is a Fitz and the Tantrums concert?
Fitz and the Tantrums performs for about 90 minutes, but the band can get 100 minutes out of their set with one or two song additions if time allows.
Who is opening the show?
The opening act for their latest tour is the indie pop collective, Unlikely Candidates. They are signed to major label Atlantic and are currently working on their debut full length album. The group has a self-titled EP out now.
How do I get access to presale tickets for Fitz and the Tantrums’ tour?
The main method for obtaining presales is through the official Warner Music website. There are links on the band’s main website, but the real presale tickets and vital information is supplied through Warner. No membership is required for purchase, but you need an account with Warner to obtain the presale, which puts you on an email listing.
The band is donating $1.50 of every ticket sold to a charity known as MusiCares. It cares for musicians that need critical help, including emergencies, medical, and financial.
Of course, you can skip all that entirely and opt for the popular American Express platform. You’ll need an American Express card, and the resource is only servicing a handful of dates for this tour.
How does the band incorporate their big soul sound into their live show?
The band consists of six members. Frontman Michael Fitzpatrick mostly remains on vocals, allowing him to run about the stage and get right in there with the crowd. The line-up is rounded out by Noelle Scaggs on vocals as well, providing that dual vocal approach the band is known for. Instrumentally, the band consists of James King on saxophone and guitar, Joe Karnes on bass, Jeremy Ruzumna on keyboards, and John Wicks on drums.
Most members, including the two core singers, step in and out of instruments throughout the evening depending on what is required of the sound. Many of the denser orchestra layers are filtered through the keyboards, which makes for a show that can keep to the huge sound without requiring a small army on stage.
Who is Fitz and the Tantrums’ publicist and press contact?
The group is in collaboration with Lisa Nupoff and Brian Klen of IminMusic Management. The only contact method is through the general company email at info@iminmusic.com.
Bobbie Gale is the main press contact for the band at BBGun Press and specific press questions are sent to bobbie@bbgunpress. Booking contacts are sent to Ron Opaleski at ro@wmeentertainment.com or Seth Seigle at SSeigle@wmeentertainment.com.
Show Reviews
“How many of you saw us at LouFest?” singer and front man Michael Fitzpatrick asked through a haze of colored lights. The response was massive, with cheers across both the floor and balcony. This band definitely left an impression during last year’s outdoor festival. With the success of appearances across the country, a breakout song and an exponentially growing fan base, this act was going to need a bigger boat.” – Francisco Fisher of KDHX Music
“Fitzpatrick told a very detailed story about having a great day and leaving work only to come home to find your girlfriend cheating on you with another man. They went into ‘Fools Gold’ and ‘Out of My League’. Fitzpatrick and Scaggs sang ‘Last Raindrop’ face to face before going into one of my personal favorites, ’6AM’.” – Lauren Barthold of WXOU FM Music
“With his fevered, ungainly moves and marked affinity for handclaps, Fitzpatrick might be one of the odder frontmen to sell out two nights at the Metro in recent years—if the band gets any bigger, he’s a soft target for a Taran Killam impersonation on SNL—but he and Scaggs had the packed house wrapped around their little fingers.” – Kris Vire of TimeOut Chicago
