Foster the People, Outkast, Pretty Lights Join Atlanta’s CounterPoint 2014

Foster the People

The CounterPoint Music & Arts Festival is returning to Atlanta and has revealed its lineup for 2014 and guess who’s showing up on the main stage? Give up? Outkast, obviously.

This is, approximately, the millionth headlining Outkast announcement from the last week, after the pair reunited, and announced that they’d be headlining 40 festivals over the next year in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut album.

Rumors recently surfaced that Outkast would reunite for Coachella, which, obviously, later became fact, but prior to confirming their appearance last week, André 3000 was reluctant to say which way things would go for the duo. “Things are kind of up in the air with me,” he told Rolling Stone in 2012. “I don’t know the future of music right now. I have no idea what I do. I honestly don’t.”

Outkast will be joined at CounterPoint by other musical heavyweights like Foster the People, Janelle Monáe, Major Lazer, Sleigh Bells, Chance the Rapper, Run the Jewels (El-P and Killer Mike), ScHoolboy Q, YACHT, Thundercat, Rustie, Thievery Corporation, Nosaj Thing, Tycho, and St. Lucia.

Also playing are STS9, Pretty Lights, J. Cole, Krewella, Big Gigantic, Flux Pavilion, Above & Beyond, Matt & Kim, A-Trak, Boys Noize, Wolfgang Gartner, Flosstradamus, Shpongle, Moon Taxi, Papadosio, Poolside, Wild Cub, Rubblebucket, Cashmere Cat, XXYYXX, Tourist, and The Revivalists.

This is the second year for CounterPoint, which was introduced to the world by the people behind Camp Bisco, Lollapalooza, Lights All Night, and many others, and debuted in 2012 with sets from Avicii, Skrillex and returning headliner Pretty Lights. Unlike the first one, this year’s CounterPoint festival will take place in the Kingston Downs, Georgia.

The three-day festival will happen between April 25th-27th.
