The American rapper and singer-songwriter Kid Rock was born on January 17, 1971 by the name of Robert James Richie in Romeo, Michigan. Several studio albums were released by Kid Rock that went unnoticed for the most part before Devil Without a Cause was released in 1998 by Atlantic Records. The set sold 11 million copies behind the hit songs “Only God Knows Why,” “Cowboy” and “Bawitdaba. In 2000, The History of Rock was released, which is a compilation of remastered and remixed version of Kid Rock’s songs off his earlier albums in addition to “American Bad Ass” a hit single. Cocky was released as a followup in 2001.
After starting slowly, Cocky was resurrected with his country style hit song with Sheryl Crow called “Picture.” The album went gold and sold over 5 million copies. In 2003, Rock followed up with a self-titled released. However, the set failed to produce any major hits. A live album titled Live Trucker was released in 2006. Rock N Roll Jesus was released in 2007. The set produced the hit single “All Summer Long.” It was Rock’s first smash worldwide hit and charted at the No. 1 spot in eight countries over Australia and Europe. Rock N Roll Jesus sold 5 million worldwide albums was in the US was certified platinum. In November 2010, Rock released Born Free. Kid Rock has been nominated for five Grammy Awards.
