Frequently Asked Questions
What songs will Lana Del Rey play in concert?
Lana Del Rey is going on her first major headlining tour in 2014, and tickets are going shockingly fast. She has a single full length in her catalog, which makes up the brunt of her setlist. Fortunately, Del Rey pads the rest of the set with singles and deep cuts from a handful of her select EP’s. She opens with the controversial “Cola” from her 2013 Paradise EP. She manages to close with the back to back punch of her breakthrough single “Video Games” and the haunting “National Anthem,” both from her debut full length, Born to Die.
Born to Die is well represented with close to seven of the songs she plays live coming from it. She manages to squeeze in “Without You” which was a Born to Die b-side available on the record’s deluxe re-release. With that, her rather short setlist is fitted with mostly popular cuts, not limited to the Rick Rubin produced “Ride” from her Paradise EP and the seductive “Gods & Monsters” from that same mini-album.
Lana Del Rey will sometimes add “Summertime Sadness” to her setlist, but it is not a staying song. This is a bit odd considering it was a remix of this respective track that caught audiences’ attention and brought her the biggest top 40 success. Regardless, it was an upbeat club track that charted; certainly not something Lana Del Rey is embracing with her live show.
Her latest single, “West Coast,” is off her upcoming sophomore full length, Ultraviolence. It is the only song played from this upcoming release, but Del Rey does not always play it in full form. At a few shows, she has played a shortened ‘sample’ version of the song.

Does Lana Del Rey play any old material?
Lana Del Rey broke into the cultural idiom with her blog smash hit, “Video Games.” But many people are unaware that she had a full-length album out before this mainstream breakthrough. Called Lizzie Grant, only a handful of blogs quietly wrote some ink on it.
She plays nothing before “Video Games,” catering the setlist to material from her Paradise EP.
Has Lana Del Rey showed signs of nervousness on this first big tour?
The famous signer has never been on a tour as long or as big as this recent one in promotion for Ultraviolence. The singer has shown major signs of nervousness in the past that culminated with her awkward performance on Saturday Night Live in 2012. Her 2013 shows were spotty, with Del Rey playing short sets and lacking stage presence.
Early 2014 concerts showed marked improvement. Lana Del Rey still holds much of her singing focus, with no big stage fan flare or dramatic light shows to accent the show. But now, she has enough presence and confidence to make up for the lack of a powerful backdrop.
Who is opening the show?
Interestingly, there will be no opening act for Lana Del Rey in 2014.

Concert Reviews
“The affectionate crowd sang along with every word of the [Born to Die], and as soon as she completed it, she allowed herself to audibly (albeit off-mic) to say “Yes!” as a statement of self-congratulation, much like an athlete does after they make a great play. In that moment, you could see the stress wash from her face almost entirely, and she delivered the rest of her set in a relaxed and confident manner. Not once the entire night did her nerves or her vocals betray her, and in numbers like “Million Dollar Man” and “Carmen,” she was able to elevate the quality of her songs above their studio incarnations and truly connect with the audience.” – Mark Graham of VH1
“She looked as pretty as a doll and sounded just as perfect. She spent ample time taking pictures with fans on their phones, patiently asking which button to press, signing autographs, and collecting drawings and flowers from them throughout the whole night. Del Rey, indeed, was a pleasant surprise.” – Sviatlana Piatakova of Blog Critics
“She begins with the sullen Cola, a track with an already notorious opening line that the audience sings along with her, although their reading is far less aloof. Perhaps most striking is how poised Del Rey remains, highlighted by continuous video close-ups. She sings huskily, adopts characters, throws in some Spanish – but every frame projected on to the giant screens could double as a cover shoot. It’s a remarkably controlled performance.” – Graeme Virtue of The Guardian
